Is Synaptiva free?
Yes. Synaptiva will be free to download on the App Store.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no account and no sign-in. Everything you log stays on your phone.
Who is it for?
Healthy adults, younger or older, who are noticing early changes in memory or thinking and don't have a diagnosis of dementia or another cognitive condition.
Which iPhones does it work on?
Synaptiva needs iOS 17 or later.
Is Synaptiva a medical device?
No. Synaptiva doesn't provide medical advice. It can't diagnose anything or tell you whether your memory or thinking is changing, and nothing it shows you is a clinical result.
Talk to a doctor before changing your diet, exercise, sleep, or medication. If you or someone close to you is worried about memory or thinking, bring it to a doctor early rather than waiting for an app to tell you something.
Do my game scores show how my memory is doing?
Not on their own. Scores move with practice, tiredness, noise, mood, and eyesight as much as with anything about your thinking. A low score isn't a diagnosis, and a high one isn't a clean bill of health.
The monthly cognitive baseline runs at a fixed difficulty, so it's the steadier comparison. Even so, it measures how you did at some tasks in an app on one day.
Are the 40 Hz sounds safe for me?
The listening sessions play 40 Hz clicks, white or brown noise, or a binaural beat. If you have epilepsy, tinnitus, a hearing condition, or any concern about your health, talk to a doctor before using them.
Keep the volume comfortable. Listening for a long time at high volume can damage hearing, whatever the sound is.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Almost everything does. The three music games, barcode scanning, and food search need a connection.
Does it work with Apple Health?
Yes, if you want it to. With your permission, Synaptiva reads your exercise minutes, active calories, steps, walking and running distance, and workouts. It never writes anything to Apple Health.
What happens to my data if I lose my phone?
Because there's no account, we can't restore it for you. If iCloud Backup is on, your phone's backup includes Synaptiva's data. You can also export everything you've logged as a file from My data in the app.
How do I delete my data?
My data in the app has a reset button for each part of the app. Deleting the app removes everything.
