Draft for review. This policy describes how the October 25, 2026 build of the app handles data. Fill in the highlighted items, have it reviewed by a lawyer, and update it whenever the app's data handling changes. Then delete this notice.

Synaptiva LLC (“Synaptiva,” “we,” “us”) makes the Synaptiva app, which helps you build daily habits linked to brain health. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your phone, and the choices you have.

The short version

These requests don't include your logs or your name. Like any internet request, the service receiving it can see your device's network (IP) address. Each service handles that under its own privacy policy.

Apple Health

If you choose to connect Apple Health, Synaptiva reads your workouts, exercise minutes, active calories, steps, and walking and running distance. It never writes to Apple Health. Health data is used only to show your activity in the app, stays on your phone, and is never used for advertising. You can turn off access at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Camera and notifications

The camera is used only to read barcodes, and no pictures are saved. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; they're not sent from a server.

How your information is protected

The app's data sits in its own storage on your phone, which other apps can't read. iOS encrypts it with a key tied to your passcode, so setting a passcode is the most useful thing you can do to protect it. If iCloud Backup is on, your phone's backup includes the app's data, encrypted by Apple.

Anything you export or share yourself, such as a data export file or a weekly report PDF, leaves that protection the moment you send it. Export files are plain text and include your sleep journal, so treat them like a diary.

How long information is kept

Logs are kept for seven days by default. You can choose a longer period, and turning on Insights Beta keeps them for a year. Short daily summaries for the long-term view are kept for five years. You can delete any part of your data at any time from My data in the app, and deleting the app removes everything.

We don't set cookies or run advertising on this website. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which can see your IP address when you visit. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics doesn't use cookies or other stored identifiers and doesn't fingerprint visitors. The site's fonts are stored on our own site, so no other service is contacted when you visit.

If you email us, we'll have your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to reply.

Children

Synaptiva is not intended for children under [13 / 16 / 18].

Your rights

Because your information stays on your phone, you can view, export, and delete it yourself in the app. If you have a question about your privacy, email us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
